Ludwig Scharl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Prof. Xavier Fuhr in Munich. From 1954 Scharl worked as an independent artist. He was also sought after as a restorer of fine art. He became Professor of Art and taught from 1978-1994 at the Academy of Fine Art in Nuremberg. Ludwig Scharl had many exhibitions in Germany as well as internationally.
