Short BiographyThomas Arthur McCormack is a well known New Zealand Artist. He was bornin 1883 and started to develop as an artist in the 1920s. He taught, exhibitednationally and internationally, and he is represented in the best privateCollections and in many museums.Te Ara, the Dictionary of NZ Biography writes, “His painting was never static,and over 60 years he developed a subtle poetry in Landscapes, Still Lives,figure studies and a few portraits. His exquisite control of the medium ofwatercolour is equalled in New Zealand only by Frances Hodkins and RitaAngus. “
